PCLS will hold our speech contest on 11/16/2025 1:30-2:25 pm. Please encourage your child(ren) to participate and register by 11/12/2025.

Subject: Each contender can choose his/her own subject.
The following are some examples of the speech subjects: Chinese Rhymes, Chinese Poetry (most suitable for the PreK~T3); My Favorite XXX (can be sport, school subject, animal, game, etc.), Summer Fun, The Pet And I, etc.
Speech Length:
PreK, K, T1~T3: 1-1.5 mins | T4~T5: 1.5-2 mins | T6~T10: 2-2.5 mins | All CSL: 1-1.5 mins
Grading: Grading will be based on 4 elements:
1. Content: 35% (We encourage the contenders to write his/her own script, or to work together with his/her parents. We would like to avoid the situation where parents prepare the scripts and the ki5d(s) memorize it.)
2. Expression: 30%
3. Voice: 25%
4. Time Control: 10% (Within time limit: 10%; Finishing within 30 seconds of the time limit (early or late): 8%; Finishing more than 30 seconds of the time limit (early or late): 6%)
Awards: The top three winners of the speech contest from each group will be announced on the PCLS website, www.pcls.org.
All contenders will receive a prize for participation.
